Youth Conferences, Girls Camp, and More: Outdoor Adventures Waiting to Happen

For years now, many of our outdoor locations have been popular destinations for large youth groups. With trained staff on-hand in case anything goes wrong, high-quality amenities, and exciting activities, you can’t find better locations or prices.

Whether you need space to accommodate a small group, like for your ward’s girl’s camp, or you have a stake-wide youth conference to host, we can help. With 13 spacious and unique destinations throughout Utah, there is something for you.

And, while we all wait to hear more details about the Church’s new For the Strength of Youth Conferences, keep us in mind in case your stake wants to take FSY outdoors!

Take a look at a few of our favorite destinations for youth adventures:

Camp Maple Dell

Located just up Payson Canyon (Payson, UT) and accessible year-round by a paved road, Camp Maple Dell has seen its fair share of campers and events. With plenty of amenities (commercial kitchen, showers, meal plans, etc.), over 40 individual campsites, and a beautiful lake on its property, Maple Dell has it all. The campground remains open year-round to families, retreats, and events. During the summer, the canyon is a green oasis covered in trees that shade the majority of the camp. Spacious indoor gathering areas are complimented by the large outdoor amphitheater, providing your group with lots of space and plenty of options during inclement weather. You can upgrade your event to include water sports and boating at the on-site lake or high-adventure activities on our ropes course and rock wall. At Maple Dell, the sky is the limit for your group.

Zion Base Camp

Zion Base Camp, located near St. George, Utah, is the perfect home base for your stake or youth group. With plenty of campsites, a spacious lawn for recreation, and full amenities like a commercial kitchen, restrooms/showers, an amphitheater, picnic tables, and more, this is the perfect spot for a single day or an overnight stay. Additionally, you can supplement your program with trips to nearby national and state parks. Zion Base Camp is the perfect place for a Southern Utah adventure.

Moab Base Camp

Moab Base Camp is located just outside of Moab, Utah near Arches and Canyonlands National Parks and has a unique desert program that offers a wide range of activities such as river rafting, mountain biking, canyoneering, and more! This destination is a favorite among stake conferences and large group retreats like BYU’s Adventure for Youth program. With plenty of space for camping, meal options, trained staff on-hand, and the beautiful red-rock scenery, it doesn’t get much better than Moab Base Camp for your youth -centered events.

Camp Scofield

Located only one hour from Utah Valley, Camp Scofield has its own bay on Scofield Reservoir, the largest body of water found at any of our locations. At an FSY or stake conference here, your group can enjoy sailing, swimming, kayaking, water sports, and more at our premier aquatic destination. This high-altitude destination is full of history and beauty. And like Camp Maple Dell and Moab Base Camp, you can choose to make your stay even easier with meal plans.

Camp Tifie

Camp Tifie – one of our newest camps – is nestled among oaks and pines overlooking Mount Pleasant, Utah. Here, your stake can enjoy Tifie’s heated Olympic-sized swimming pool, shooting ranges, high ropes course, and more. Staying at Tifie is convenient due to its modern amenities, large commercial kitchen, on-site cabins, and spacious indoor gathering area, yet still rustic and removed. This is one of our most popular locations for youth events because it is able to accommodate such large groups.

These are only five out of 13 locations we offer programs at. If nothing has caught your eye yet, check out our other locations, or fill out an interest form to be matched with the destination that best fits your group.

Prices and programs are customizable to fit the interests of your stake at any of our properties as well. Contact help@utahscouts.org or fill out this interest form if you would like to learn more information or begin the reservation process for next year’s FSY Conference!
