Scouts try the Maple Dell portable climbing tower

If you and the family or your Scouts are looking from some great fun, the The Big Outdoors Expo is the place this weekend, February 25, 26, and 27 at the Utah County Convention Center in Provo. This is the second year we have partnered with the EXPO with our own Scout Show on the top floor of the Convention Center.

Thursday is Scout Night. Scouts and Leaders arriving at the Expo in Scout Uniform get in free! But all three days youth 11 and under also get in free, so bring your den, pack or new Scout patrol.

There is something to see on every floor: great exhibits, unique things you need for your next troop or family campout, things to make, and of course, our train, whittling, gaga ball, displays of all kinds, our skeet-archery catch, all on the third floor. Here is some of the action waiting for you:

The Order of the Arrow booth is ringed with train track from Utah Live steamers; it’s a hit for the whole family.

Come and see us at one of our Scouting booths on the third of a floor. That whole floor is devoted to Scouting displays and activities including

  • Pioneering poles
  • On target demonstrations
  • Whittling
  • US Forest Service interpretive display (earn yourself a new neckerchief)
  • Midway games, including rockets, 3D tic tac toe, gaga ball, and more

  • Camping and equipment displays
  • Philmont and Jamboree sign-ups
  • Order of the Arrow teepee
  • Archery skeet catch

  • Giant Pinewood Derby track with 6 foot loop de loop
  • Leave No Trace display (earn candy for cleaning a camp site)
  • Social Media Certification
  • Camp Floyd, including a cannon
