Y-Serve Scouting Outreach: Adult Leadership

hispanic-cub-scut-archeryAs part of Y-serve’s Scouting Outreach, starting in January 2017 BYU Scouting is looking to place eager volunteers in Spanish-speaking and other units that have a need for adult leaders. Student volunteers include several with experience in Scouting and have a Spanish-speaking background.

Goals of this program are to help Scouting units in the Utah County area by providing volunteers who can assist with:

  • hispanic-scout-hikingIdeas in planning Scouting activities: this includes planning campouts, teaching merit badges, and helping with all other local and district event
  • Two-deep leadership for small units where number of adult volunteers able to serve is limited
  • Offering themselves as a role models for youth to follow

We are looking to serve as many Scout troops as possible, regardless of size or experience. So, if you have a pack or troop you feel could benefit from working with additional young adult leaders, we invite you to contact us for more information on meeting our volunteers.
