Jesus taught; “A man consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”—Luke 12:15
A young man approached Jesus and asked him what he should do with all the things he possessed since he was a youth. Jesus told him to go and sell them and give the money to the poor. In that way, he could find treasure in heaven and follow Jesus. Of course, the young man was disappointed as he didn’t want to part with his things. I think the answer here is like Scrooge in the Christmas movie. Riches don’t bring happiness, but sharing the riches does. It is what is asked of all of us, to give to those less fortunate.
So Scouts lets all gear up for a Spring yard sale. Donate your stuff, and give the proceeds to the poor, and find your own place in heaven.
