I’m a Senior at BYU majoring in Fine Arts and Communications with an emphasis in public relations and a new marketing associate for the BSA. I’m excited to be a part of the PR team here as a nonprofit enthusiast and fellow adventure-lover.
When I joined the LDS Church at the end of my senior year of high school, I didn’t just adopt an interest in my own newly-found faith. A passion to learn about all people, religion, cultures and traditions also ignited within me. This new ambition led me to serve a Spanish-speaking LDS mission in Chicago where I learned about and fell in love with the Spanish language and culture. Not by coincidence, I found and recently married a cute Hispanic— someone with whom I can now forever speak Spanish to and indulge in Mexican food with.
I also studied abroad in Jerusalem for a semester. Learning about the incredible dedication and faith of the Muslim, Jewish and Christian families whom I met in Israel, Jordan and Egypt was life-changing. I learned that people are so different from one another, yet we are so much the same. There was so much common ground found amongst people who valued kindness, courtesy, friendliness and bravery.
“A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.” -The Scout Law
When I actually am home, I love reading but will always put down a good book to have a good time with friends, preferably over a nice big cup of frozen yogurt with cookie dough topping. I also love challenging my husband to a game of basketball or any type of competitive sport and am currently attempting to learn how to play the ukulele.
My passion for serving others, traveling and meeting inspiring people makes working for the Boy Scouts as a marketing associate a fulfilling and meaningful experience.
