Scouts braved the cold rain and snow to attend Scout Day at LaVell Edwards Stadium, Saturday. BYU Football partnered with the Utah National Parks Council to discount tickets for anyone who loves Scouting, allowing many Scouts and their families a chance to watch some of their favorite players win their last home game of the season.
The Cougars defeated the Idaho State Bengals 59 – 13. The second quarter was one high-five after another as BYU made five touch downs, a total of 35 points, for the highest point count since the 70’s in a single quarter.
Draped in layers of clothing, blankets and rain ponchos, fans and Scouts sang the BYU Fight Song, “You will fight, day or night, rain or snow (with emphasis on the ‘snow”)!”
Two dollars a Scout ticket sold went to supporting Scouting in Utah. The fundraiser, arranged by the Provo Peak district, sold 1,733 tickets which raised $4,332 for Utah Scouts.
Thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket.
Nothing’s more American than Football, Scouting and Thanksgiving!
