Soaring to New Heights!
summer we’ll literally behaving a blast! Our theme will be Soaring to New Heights. We’ll be focusing on space, space explorers and one of the all-time favorites—building and launching rockets!
We’ve opened more days in 2016 to accommodate the demand. Sessions will run June 6th – August 3rd. Special Days to keep in mind are:
- June 6th – Special Needs Day – for youth who need a slower, calmer pace.
- June 18th – Out of County Day – for those units who drive more than an hour to get to camp
We’ll also be holding three Webelos Overnighters for boys and a member of their family. In the past these have been a great bonding opportunity for the young man and his family member. These events are packed from the minute they arrive to the minute they leave. This year we will be focusing on completing First Responder and Camper. Click 2016 Webelos Overnighter Achievement Sheet for a complete list of adventures passed off.
- June 24th – 25th
- July 15th – July 16th
- July 29th – 30th
Another fun program we started last year was A Bear Goes Fishing. This passes off the Bear Adventure with the same name. Even though it passes off a Bear Adventure this doesn’t mean that only Bears can attend. Boys and GIRLS of all ages will enjoy learning about fishing and all that’s involved and then actually going fishing.
Of course, we’ll still be holding our Shooting Sports Shoot Out for youth (yes, boys and GIRLS) who want to spend more time doing archery or shooting BB Guns. For Cub Scouts we will continue to pass off pin requirements for these two areas until the new program is revealed.
