Free National Park Entrance for Fourth Graders and Family
If you have fourth grade-age children, this is an opportunity of a lifetime! The National Parks Service has created a program that allows fourth graders to take their family and friends to any National Park, Monument or Historical Site for FREE.
As Park entrance fees rise, this deal is one you should not miss out on. It super simple as well. Visit the “Every Kid in a Park” website, click on the “get your pass” button, and have your fourth grader answer a few fun questions to get their pass.
Make sure you print out your pass and bring it with you to every park you visit. Some parks will even turn the paper pass into a waterproof plastic pass as a keepsake.
The pass is good for the fourth-grader’s entire school year, September 2017 – August 2018, so take advantage of this awesome program before the year is up. (If you have upcoming fourth graders, register them this coming September and have a full year of fun).
Plan ahead — If you visit a site that charges entrance fees per person – the pass will admit all children under 16 and up to three adults for free.

Natural History Museum of Utah
Visit the Natural History Museum of Utah on their FREE ADMISSION DAY on Monday, August 27, 2018.
If you want to attend the NHMU Free Day, get your tickets early! Same day reservations are not permitted. Advance reservations for Free Day will be made available online at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time on the Tuesday a week before the scheduled Free Day. Reservations will remain open that week through the Sunday at Midnight prior to the scheduled Free Day.
However, a limited number of tickets will be set aside for visitors who arrive on Free Day without a ticket. The NHMU encourages you to visit the Museum on Free Day even if you don’t have an advance reservation. If tickets are still available, you will be admitted. You may be asked to wait until later in the day and, unfortunately, you may be turned away.
If Free Day isn’t your style, NHMU also offers Group Rates. Bring the whole troop for a day trip and take advantage of the discounted price.
Cub Scouts can even participate in the museum’s Boy Scout at the Museum program. Scouts will enjoy a wide variety of hands-on, authentic experiences with natural history concepts that also support their progress towards Cub Scout Belt Loops, Cub Scout Merit Badges and Boy Scout Merit Badges.

Cub Scouts Fish for Free
Do you have a fishing license? If not, its a worthwhile investment that can benefit more than just you. Leaders who hold a valid fishing license are eligible to take youth on fishing activities where participants can fish without a license.
To qualify for this great deal, fill out the information on the fishing youth exemption form and read the section of the Utah State code that is attached. You don’t have to submit this form to the DWR, but you must have it in your possession during the event.
This is a great way to take a troop out for a fun outdoors experience, especially if you as a leader already hold a valid fishing license!
