Are you a Spanish-speaking Scouter? Do you want a more immersive experience for your Wood Badge? Come to the Bi-lingual Wood Badge course held July 18-23, 2016 at Tifie Scout Camp.
Hi, my name is Rita Parry, and I am the Course Director for the 2016 bilingual Wood Badge course sponsored by the Utah National Parks Council and the Saratoga Springs Utah South Stake.
We set up this course because we really wanted to focus on our Spanish units and strongly encourage them to sign up and take advantage of this opportunity to have some training in their own language and also for those who just want to practice their bi-lingual skills. Wood Badge is the highest level of adult Scout leader training available where leaders learn leadership and team development. Wood Badge courses aim to make Scouters better leaders by teaching advanced leadership skills, and by creating a bond and commitment to the Scout movement.
A majority of the staff speak Spanish, and we will be providing Spanish translation for those who need it. Please share this information with your COR (counselor in the bishopric/presidency assigned to Scouting) and all of the Scout leaders in your ward or branch. We are excited to involve as many of the Scout leaders as possible from your units.
Sign up early for this opportunity to have your leaders better trained. This opportunity is for anyone, not just those in the Saratoga Springs Utah South Stake. SIGN UP HERE
The Great Salt Lake Council is offering an ASL Wood Badge Course May 12-14 and May 19-21 at Tifie Ranch. Here’s a link to the flyer for this course. Please direct all questions about this course to Aaron Bullock at firstname.lastname@example.org.
