The August Activities at Wasatch Mountain State Park You Don’t Want to Miss

There is a lot going on at Wasatch Mountain State Park this August, so get out and enjoy your park! 

Here’s the schedule: 

Saturday, August 5, at 7 pm: Night Animals Program

Sunday, August 6, 10am-12pm: Historic Huber Grove Tour:

Saturday, August 12, 8am-5pm: Military Appreciation Day

Saturday, August 12, 9am-1pm: Trail Work Day

Saturday, August 12, 10am-12pm: Historic Huber Grove Tour

Saturday August 19, 10am-12pm: FISH-A-LON Celebration

Saturday Aug 19, 1pm-3pm: Astronomy Day

Aug 20-Sept 17 Weekends: Apple Harvest at the Historic Huber Grove Site

Night Animals Program

What do you know about nocturnal animals? Join us Saturday night at the Campground Amphitheater for a fun evening to learn more about nocturnal animals and what you might see here at the state park!

Historic Huber Grove Tour

Take a tour of the historic Huber Grove with Interpretive Naturalist Donna.

Military Appreciation Day

Celebrate and honor all Active Military and Veterans! Play life size Jenga, Yard Yahtzee, Ladder Ball Toss, Corn Hole and Nine Square in the air. Free rentals for fishing poles, fat tire bikes and GPS units for Geocaching. Dutch oven lunch from 11:30-12:30 is free for Military families, Non-Military only $5. The honor guard ceremony at 1 pm will be followed by cake and ice cream!

Trail Work Day

Use the trails, love the trails? Help maintain them by volunteering your time and sweat! It’s a great way to meet new people who value trails.

FISH-A-LON Celebration

Join the fishing frenzy! All fishermen have one more chance to catch a tagged fish and be entered into the Grand Prize Drawing. Other prizes will be given for first fish, longest fish, shortest fish, and last fish. 

Astronomy Day

Prepare for the Total Solar Eclipse on Aug 21 by participating in hands-on astronomy activities here at the state park. Read here for astronomy merit badge requirements and see what you can check off at this activity!

There are so many great events happening at our parks. So, before Summer ends, find an activity you like and bring the family, a Scout troop, or some friends and spend some time outdoors!
