Joni Crane’s last adventure took her to New Braunfels, Texas where she served as the Assistant District Commissioner in the Alamo Area Council’s Two Rivers District. Married to Tracy Crane, Geologist and parent of three, Crane’s extracurricular activities revolve around her family, church, scouting and community service.
“At age 17, I was invited to join the Los Angeles Sherriff Department’s Explorer Scout Post. At a time when I was struggling with vital choices about the direction my life would take, Scouting instilled the values I still hold dear today in every aspect of my life.”
Crane currently serves as a Vernal City Planning Commissioner, a Red Cross Shelter Manager, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) trainer and will serve as Senior Patrol Leader at the August 2017 Wood Badge course in the Uintah Basin.
Before leaving for Texas, Joni served as a Board Member on the Utah Humanities Council, Legislative Director of the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce and co-hosted a Radio show on KVEL in Eastern Utah. She is a trained and licensed Texas Realtor, Public Information Officer, Private Investigator, Bail Bondsman, Journalist and Political and Fundraising Consultant.
“If you’re curious, learn it! That’s the concept of Scouting. The sky is your limit so enjoy the people you work with and learn as much as you can absorb. It will keep you young and fun!”
