    GO Utah Warriors Rugby!

I went to the Utah Warriors match against Austin (Texas) Elite Saturday night with my family. We had a great time! Brand new Zion’s Bank Stadium right off Mountain View Corridor in Herriman (north of Saratoga Springs) about 10 miles. A quick 25 minute drive from Utah Valley.

First time at a Rugby match. It was very exciting! Easy to pick up. Football without pads and some soccer basics rolled up into a very exciting sport. High-level competition. Warrior athletes at the highest level. Definitely a tribal chemistry with war drums pounding in the background. Very cool!

We have two children that served missions in Durban S.A. and Cape Town S.A. They learned and watched Rugby on their missions. They were excited to get back to it Saturday night!

Saturday nights game was high scoring: Utah Warriors 35 – Austin Elite 19. The matches are just the right amount of time. Two 40 minute halfs. And, the clock continuously runs, except during injuries and a few other circumstances. It was a very refreshing sporting event that didn’t go on and on and on… for half the day!

I think our family found a new spectator sport… while we wait for football season to start back up. We are looking forward to going to more matches and cheer for the Utah Warriors in addition to Utah Utes, and BYU Cougars!
