Chris Hunt, Author of “Guide to Advancement,” Coming to Utah National Parks Council

Are you a Scout mom frustrated by trying to understand what your Scout needs to do to advance and achieve his goals in Scouting? Or a professional wanting to know how to counsel and respond to questions about advancement.

Chris Hunt from the National Advancement Team & author of the National Boy Scouts of America, “Guide to Advancement,” is coming to the Utah National Parks Council for a training class. Anyone can attend the training, at no cost, on November 2, 2013 at the Council Office at 748 North 1340 West in Orem. Lunch will be provided for all guests.

The “Guide to Advancement” is a 100 page pdf. document. Chris is going to help simplify and answer your questions about Advancement in the Boy Scouts of America.

The advancement program in the Boy Scouts is designed to provide a series of surmountable obstacles and steps in overcoming them. The Boy Scout plans his advancement and progresses at his own pace as he meets each challenge. The Boy Scout is rewarded for each achievement, which helps him gain self-confidence. The steps in the advancement system help a Boy Scout grow in self-reliance and in the ability to help others.

Registration is limited, so register today to reserve your spot in this training event. There is no cost for attendance.
