NYLT is filled with activities, presentations, challenges, discussions, and camping in a team environment. Participants learn and practice skills that are valuable at home, church, school, work and the Scouting unit or Young Woman classroom.
The course centers on these themes: Living the Values, Bringing the Vision to Life, Models for Success, Tools of the Trade and Leading to Make a Difference. Specifically these sessions make up the course:
About a year ago the Pleasant Grove Northfield Stake arranged to used Tifie Boy Scout Camp for a leadership development youth conference. Maria and I were on the steering committee to adapt the course. The result was a new tool for camp that brings both girls and boys together in an outdoor setting to learn leadership.
In producing this series, we in no way intended this course to be just for camp. That’s why we have published it here; we want all LDS youth leaders to have access to the tools your Scouting dollars helped to produce.
We look forward to your comments as you use these sessions in your BYC, at Mutual and at youth conferences

Hi Darryl:
How can I learn more about the info presented:
Let Them Lead: A Leadership Development Series for LDS Youth
Looks interesting and beneficial.
Daryl, this idea is super! How is it envisioned to fit into the LDS program which is no longer supporting Varsity Scouts and Venturing? What support will come from BSA, if any?
Years ago, while my children were in their teenage years, we did a similar Young Men/Young Women adaption of NYLT which we called “LeaderChip.” My girls absolutely loved it!
