Attend Little Philmont to Discuss Changes in Older Boy Programs and Best Practices

The Utah National Parks Council under the direction of priesthood leadership will conduct Little Philmont conferences for stake and ward leadership in 2017. We have heard from our stake presidents that the Little Philmont messages have been very helpful in improving their older-boy programs. These messages will continue to be important, especially with the changes in the older-boy program starting next year.

If you would like to attend Little Philmont, there are still three session available: Sept 8-9 at Tifie Scout Camp, Sept 22-23 in Roosevelt, and Oct 6-7 at Tifie Scout Camp.

Philmont LDS SessionThe conferences will begin Friday evening at 6 pm and end Saturday afternoon. Each conference will focus on the older boy program (ages 14-18) and how to use Church and Scouting resources to “be with the young men,” “connect them to heaven,” and “let them lead.” If a stake president attends, he may also bring his Young Men counselor, stake Young Men president, and the bishops in his stake. Sessions at the conference will be discussion oriented and participative. Speakers include area seventies and other Church leaders.
