Budget Woes Compel Reduction in Utah National Parks Council Workforce

Utah National Parks Council, BSA Press Release

Orem, UT — Due to an anticipated shortfall in 2015-2016 fundraising, the Utah National Parks Council, Boy Scouts of America, is looking to make a reduction in workforce to allow the council to maintain a fiscally responsible position. Unfortunately, this will negatively impact a number of our valued employees.

While the current fundraising efforts are not complete, it is estimated the money raised will fall significantly short compared to previous years. We are working very hard to mitigate the impact of this hardship on our local Scouting units and youth.

The value of Scouting can be seen in the lives of local youth and volunteers. The Utah National Parks Council, BSA will focus on helping the community better understand Scouting’s strengths and how its program prepares youth for leadership, civic service and personal development.
