Ever since I joined the Scouting movement, I realized what I missed as a young women not involved in Scouting. Rock climbing, archery and skills-based training are just some of the things I wish my young woman camping experience would have included. But, recently I realized the aspect of Scouting I missed out on the most was the regional, national and world Scouting events. Imagine being surrounded by thousands of young people of other faiths, from other places and from other walks of life united by one purpose under the Scout Oath and Law, having an adventure to remember. This is why I am excited to announce that the Utah National Parks Council is sending their first all-girl venturing crew contingent to the 2017 National Jamboree
Any young women who are or will be between the ages of 14 – 20 as of July 2017 are welcome to join the crew to attend the 2017 Jamboree. Whether your daughter is interested in the adventure of Scouting or her brother is attending Jamboree and wants to go as well, we welcome their participation.
To sign up, go to utahscouts.org/jamboree and look for Unit C16. See the flyer below for more information or contact Kimberly Gilboy (email@example.com, 801-472-6767), or Missy Felsted (firstname.lastname@example.org, 801-573-4095).
