How to Define the Scout Venturing Program

Provide positive experiences to help young people mature and prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

Venturing is a youth development program for priest-age young men. It is based on the unique and dynamic relationship between youth and adult leaders. Venturing focuses primarily on the needs and interests of young men, using the talents of Church members and other community specialists to help them explore their interests and prepare for missionary service and other key aspects of their lives. The result is an activity program and thematic events that help youth pursue their special interests, grow, develop leadership skills, and become good husbands and fathers as well as solid citizens.
